The Greene County Court appointed District Attorney Marjorie Fox to the position of District Attorney in April 2001 following the resignation of District Attorney Glenn Toothman, III.
DA Fox first joined the prosecutor’s office in 1989 as an Assistant to District Attorney David Pollock. She was later promoted to First Assistant District Attorney and continued in that capacity until the Judges selected her to fill the vacancy created by DA Toothman’s departure.
DA Fox was first hired to litigate appeals and assist in sexual assault cases. Her duties with the District Attorney’s Office have continued to expand to meet the challenges of interpreting new legislation and addressing the complexities of litigation, including the years of appeals following criminal convictions.
In 1981, Fox was admitted to the practice of law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania. She was admitted to practice before the Third Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals in 2000.
The daughter of Jean Fox and the late Judge Charles Fox, Ms. Fox is a married mother of two. Born in New York and raised in Pittsburgh, she received her undergraduate degree from Penn State. After working for the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service, she attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She worked as an associate in a small Pittsburgh law firm until 1987, when she moved to Greene County to start a family. Prior to joining the District Attorney’s Office, she had the opportunity to provide legal services when appointed by the Court and to perform legal research for William Davis, Esq.
