County Reentry
With the enactment of Act 81 of 2008, offenders incarcerated under a county sentence may only be released prior to their minimum sentence if they are made eligible for a reentry program at the time of sentencing. A reentry plan is defined as a release plan that may include drug and alcohol treatment, behavioral health treatment, job training, skills training, education, life skills or any other conditions deemed relevant by the court (42 ยง9756(e)).
The Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing is gathering information on county reentry practices and policies (Act 81 of 2008). Information will be provided in the near future.
