Act 81 of 2008 mandated that the Commission on Sentencing develop guidelines for state and county parole.  This complicated initiative involves research, examining current policies and practices, and benchmarking.  The information will then be synthesized and guidelines developed.  Public hearings and publication in the Pennsylvania Bulletin will provide an opportunity for comment prior to finalization.

This work is currently in the information gathering stage and guidelines have not been developed.  Updates on progress will be posted on the web site.
