Senator White was appointed to the Commission by Senate President Pro Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer on March 10, 2003, and is presently serving her third two-year term. In August 2007, she was unanimously elected Vice Chair of the Commission. Senator White received a B.A. from Quincy University (Quincy, IL)(1963) and a J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (1967). She has been a member of the Senate of Pennsylvania since 1997, representing the 21st District. She previously was employed as Venango County Public Defender (1974-1976), and as Vice President for Environmental/Governmental Affairs for the Quaker State Corporation.
