With previous editions of the guidelines the Commission released an implementation manual, to accompany the text and provide additional commentary and description. For the 8th Edition and its suite of guidelines, the Commission created the Compendium – a collection of topical reference materials. The Compendium is intended to provide additional context and clarity for practitioners working with 8th Edition Sentencing Guidelines, Resentencing Guidelines, Sentence Risk Assessment Instrument, State Parole Guidelines, and State Parole Recommitment Ranges. Volumes contain handbooks and supplements by topic. Additional volumes covering the entire suite will be released in the future.
