The Commission is a legislative agency funded by a state appropriation. It relies on state appropriations to support existing mandates and new initiatives. In addition, specific projects may be funded through federal or state grants or other sources. The Commission contracts with an independent auditor at the conclusion of each fiscal year for preparation of a financial statement, as authorized by 42 Pa.C.S.A.§2153(a)(3).
