The Education and Outreach Unit focuses on developing and delivering seminars and training opportunities to criminal justice stakeholders and assists the Commission with policy development. The unit frequently engages with legislative members and their staff, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and court staff (e.g., probation/parole and court administration) to support the Commission’s various legislative mandates and duties. Staff also work with counties to verify sentencing and resentencing data submitted to the Commission and to develop and promote best practices to ensure data quality.
