March Legislative Lunch and Learn: Commission Initiatives and Recent Legislative and Appellate Activity
This session will provide an overview of recently completed Commission initiatives, including Senate Resolution 196 (Veterans Involved in the Criminal Justice System), revalidation of the Commission’s Risk Assessment Instrument, evaluation of the Short Sentence Parole program, and the annual reporting and verification project. The presentation will also highlight recent legislative enactments and appellate activity affecting sentencing practice. In addition, staff will provide an update on the development of the Compendium, a collection of topical reference materials designed to support practitioners working with the 8th Edition Sentencing Guidelines.
