Biography:

Nate is a lifelong resident of Beaver County having graduated from New Brighton High School in 2001. After earning his B.A. in History from the University at Buffalo in 2006, his J.D. from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2010, and his LL.M from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in 2011, he returned back to Pennsylvania to begin his legal career.

During law school, Nate made the Dean’s List and Honor Roll during every semester. He earned the highest grade in his “Taxation of Individual Income” class and was awarded the Certificate of Merit. He was a Senior Editor of The Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and winner of the Seventh Annual Tax Writing Competition and had his article published in the 2010 Fall Edition of the Michigan Tax Journal. Nate also competed in several Moot Court and Mock Trial Competitions, was a Student Appeals Magistrate, and both American Bar Association and Student Bar Association Tutor for multiple different courses. In addition to his academic achievements, Nate held internships with the Michigan Tax Tribunal, Michigan Department of Treasury – Tax Policy Division, and The Office of Chief Counsel for the I.R.S. in the Medium to Large Size Business Division.

For many years he worked as an independent contractor for several large oil and gas companies in addition to the law firm of Gordon & Reese in downtown Pittsburgh. In June of 2016 he joined the law firm of James J. Loll, P.C., in Beaver, as an associate attorney. In 2019 he became the founding partner of NBMS Law, P.C., with a primary office located in Beaver and a satellite office located in Pittsburgh. He also served as a part-time public defender, as well as the solicitor for White Township, and solicitor for the Harmony Township Sewer Authority. He is very active in the Pennsylvania and Beaver County Bar Associations. He is currently serving on the Beaver County Board of Governors, in addition to four committees while chairing the Continued Learning Education (CLE) Committee. He is a past president of the Young Lawyers Division of the Beaver County Bar Association. He serves on the House of Delegates for the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s 2019-2020 Bar Leadership Institute class.  Nate has been practicing law for twelve years and have tried numerous cases, both civil and criminal.

In March of 2023 he decided to run for District Attorney of Beaver County and on November 7, 2024, he defeated the two-term incumbent to become the youngest District Attorney in Beaver County history. Nate was sworn in on December 28, 2023 and took office on January 2, 2024.
