The Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing holds public quarterly meetings. Commission members serve a two-year term or until a successor is appointed (42 Pa.C.S. § 2152). Members include: two Senators, two Representatives, four Judges, a District Attorney, a defense attorney, and a law professor. Ex officio members include the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Secretary and Chair of the Pennsylvania Parole Board. To promote transparency, yearly budget appropriations and expenditures are included in PennWatch. Commission staff are employees of The Pennsylvania State University.
